Don't Fear the Fall.

A metaphor, in more way than one.

If you happen to live in a climate similiar to mine, in Minnesota, you might be dreading what is inevitably coming for us. Colder weather is upon on doorstep and I've decided that instead of fearing a better approach might be to accept that it's going to happen, prepare for it and finally to try my damndest to find enjoyment in whatever Mother Nature throws my way.

I find dressing for colder weather can be fun!

Sweaters, Chunky knit scarves & corduroys pants with heels.

+ this inspirational collage

Fearing the inevitable is a waste of energy.

Whether it's the weather or classes starting, a new boss or the end of your favorite TV show - THINGS CHANGE. Acceptance really is the first step is processing a situation, once you stop fighting it, being angry and resisting, only then can you move forward, make the best of it and really define the kind of person you want to be.

If you live in a cold climate bitching about it only makes everyone around you more miserable than the already were.

Especially if you live in a climate similar to mine, where the warm weather is to be cherished and is very limited, I encourage everyone to SPEND MORE TIME OUTSIDE. Don't let summer slip away. Be inspired to take a trip, just read outside for a few hours or plan a group outing! Stop perusing the interwebs, take advantage of the PTO and GET YOUR ASS SOME FRESH AIR.

Yesterday's #OOTD 8/7/14

I scored these beautiful brown faux suede Steve Madden's at a discount shop last season :)

The Details:

Picture
The top is a super long tank top that was a hand me down from a friend, tucking a tank into a skirt is a great way to give a top several lives. The belt was a thrift store purchase and the amazingly light-weight, black, pencil skirt was salvaged at a garage sale!

A transition into a new chapter of my work life has me exploring business casual a little more and I am doing my best to be creative about it. Maximizing the garments I already own is huge to maintaining a low fashion footprint ;) Just because you get a new job doesn't mean you have to spend insane amounts of money, hit up some garage sales before the season is over and mix and match. HAVE FUN with your outfits, torturing yourself results in tortured looking fashion decisions.
