Last Saturday (11/10) I went to Public Functionary's first event, a party raising money and showcasing interactive art. COLORANT GLEAM was a great party, full of creative people with vibrant spirits, bright graphic colors and Minnesotan charm. The details were well thought out, I even roasted a marshmallow at the fire pit just outside the gallery space's loading dock door.
This art gallery is going to be an amazing asset to the Minneapolis art community and in order for it to be the best project that it can be everyone needs to do their part, check out the Kickstarter campaign to get involved.
Another highlight of the weekend was cleaning things out of my old bedroom. My mother encouraged me to purge some magazines. It's true I may not open their pages often but putting them in the 'go' pile is as hard as they make it look on Hoarders.
In the end cleansing was a positive experience and my girl @lizgardnermpls is getting a heap of amazing fashion magazines for her archive.
